June Miyake

June Miyake leads First Place for Youth’s Contracts Department which administers over 30 public contracts and is responsible for securing new and renewal solicitations, ensuring contract compliance, internal and external monitoring, and building partnerships with government funders and community organizations. In 2017, she oversaw the organization’s successful effort to receive national accreditation.

Prior to First Place, June worked for the Housing Authority of the County of Marin for 14 years, most recently serving a 7-year term as Director of Supportive Housing. In this role, she managed up housing programs, supervised various case management teams, and oversaw the operations of the Department, including regulatory compliance, contracts management, program evaluation, fiscal management, and staff training and supervision. June was also Project Manager for Shelter Partnership, Inc., a public policy and technical assistance agency specializing in homelessness and housing in Los Angeles. She managed research projects, developed grant application questions, provided technical assistance to community based organizations seeking public funding, and reviewed standards for various government assistance programs. June has extensive experience in various HUD funded programs including Housing Choice Voucher, Shelter Plus Care, and Resident Opportunities for Self-Sufficiency.

June has a Master’s degree in Sociology with an emphasis in Applied Social Science from San Diego State University.
